Butler Township will hold a public hearing as part of the process to consider a zoning change ordinance along Aubrey Drive.
The hearing will be held on September 19th at 7 p.m. at the Butler Township Building. Butler Township Commissioners could choose to approve the new change later that night.
According to Zoning Officer Jesse Hines, Butler County requested the change on approximately one and a half acres that is technically part of Alameda Park but is located on the north side of Route 422. The area is currently zoned R1 but the County is planning to divide and sell the property to a couple of adjacent landowners on that side of the road.
Nearly one acre would be designated agricultural to be added to a larger agricultural plot while the other over half acre would be changed to R2 (residential) to become part of the adjacent golf course. This plan will first go before the Township Planning Commission next month for a recommendation which will be made to the Commissioners.
