Zelienople Borough Council has made the difficult decision to cancel a few popular summer activities due to health concerns.
Events that will not be taking place this year include the Memorial Day Public Service, all 4th of July public events including parade, fireworks, and park activities, and the Horse Trading Days.
This decision was made after consulting the latest guidelines about COVID-19 provided by the state, the Department of Health, and the Center for Disease Control.
The Borough Council acknowledges the historical, economic, and social value these events have to residents but this was action that needed to be taken in order to ensure public safety.
Council plans to resume these events at some point in the future.
