A local man has been chosen to serve as the Grand Marshal for the Zelienople 4th of July Parade later today.
The Rotary Club of Zelienople announced the selection of Thomas Murray during their annual year-end dinner last month.
The parade will take place at 1 p.m. today and Murray was chosen for the honor based on the role he has taken in many projects to help the community such as Main Street Revitalization, athletic facilities development, and Community Pool fundraising.
The club also recognized Bob Jodon with the 2021 “Doc” Viola Service Above Self Award for sewing many masks during the pandemic as well as the English Lutheran Church for frequent free meals during the pandemic with a $1,000 donation.
