The annual YWCA fundraising event for community members who aren’t ready to go the extra mile will take place later today.
The YWCA is hosting their second .5K Turtle Trot at Alameda Park beginning at noon. This “Run for everyone” is about .3 miles long—and should take only 700 steps.
During the walk, participants will be able to enjoy free cake halfway through as well as a beer or root beer at the finish. There will also be various activity stations set up, a costume contest, and food trucks.
The cost to participate is $20 and money raised from the event will go toward the YWCA’s programs for women living in poverty
