Those enjoying the outdoors this time of year are reminded to not disturb any young wildlife they may happen upon.
The Pennsylvania Game Commission says that while sometimes young animals look like they are alone, most of the time the parents are watching them from nearby.
Trying to interfere with the wildlife or remove them from where they are found can be harmful to people as well as the animals.
It is also illegal to possess wild animals and violations can lead to large fines. If you do find wildlife that appears to be abandoned, you can contact the Pennsylvania Association of Wildlife Rehabilitators at pawr.com or the Game Commission at pgc.pa.gov.
