A manufacturing company in Butler County that had contracts with the U.S. government is closed.
Xper USA, which was formerly known as Ibis Tek, shut down their business late last Friday. According to their website, the company had around 200 employees.
Its headquarters were on Route 8 in Middlesex Township. Just a couple of weeks ago, one of their buildings caught fire and was significantly damaged.
A group of investors purchased Ibis Tek after its two founders were charged with fraud in 2017. The company was rebranded as Xper—and was recently awarded a nearly $230 million contract with the Department of Defense.
