A special event will be held this weekend to remember, honor and teach about the sacrifice of veterans.
Military representatives will place seven wreaths at Butler downtown’s Diamond Park at noon on Saturday as part of Wreaths Across America.
The Presentation of Wreaths is a nationwide effort at over 1,200 locations including Arlington National Cemetery started in 1992 to raise awareness of the need to honor veterans.
This event is sponsored locally by the General Richard Butler Chapter of the National Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution.
