High School Sports from Wednesday:
WPIAL Boys Soccer quarterfinals:
Seneca Valley defeated Canon-McMillan 1-0. Matt Happ scored the game’s only goal, as Seneca Valley improves to 17-0-1. Dylan Good stopped all 11 shots from Canon-Mac for his 15th shut-out this season. The Raiders advance to the Quad-A semi-finals Saturday against Upper St. Clair. USC ousted Taylor-Allderdice 1-0.
Pine-Richland defeated Penn-Trafford 3-1 and will meet North Allegheny Saturday in the semi-finals. N.A. defeated Peters Township 2-0 last night.
In Triple-A: Mars defeated Moon 3-1 and will meet Thomas Jefferson in the semi-finals Saturday. TJ shut-out Laurel Highlands 2-0.
Cardinal Wuerl North Catholic shut-out Eden Christian 2-0 and meet Seton-LaSalle in the semi-finals Saturday.
The Karns City Boys Soccer team will meet Punxsutawney in the District-9 Double-A championship next week. Punxsutawney defeated St. Mary’s 5-4 in a penalty kick shoot-out Wednesday after a scoreless tie over 100 minutes of regulation and overtime.
