Worthington’s carnival organizers are looking at ways to accommodate the crowds next year due to the success of this year’s event.
The increased number of carnival goers at last week’s 66th annual Worthington-West Franklin Carnival increased the bottom line financially and may help to pay for expenses next year.
Nothing has been finalized in a contract but there is word of more rides being brought in for next year. Organizers say they have simply outgrown their parking lot and will be looking for ways to expand.
The carnival is a fundraiser for the Worthington-West Franklin Volunteer Fire Department, which is just over the Butler County line off Route 422 in Armstrong County. The money brought in from the event will help with equipment and department expenses.
