Today is World Asthma Day.
Pennsylvania lawmakers unanimously voted to observe the day and the disease, which affects one in 12 people in the United States.
There is no known cure for asthma though most patients are able to maintain their quality of life through proper diagnosis and treatment.
The event is organized in part by the Pennsylvania Asthma Partners.
