A several million dollar project to improve the façade of the Butler County Courthouse and adjacent Government Center will take longer than originally expected.
John Campbell- the county’s director of facilities and operations- went before the county commissioners on Wednesday and told them the project will likely continue until June, and that’s if crews can work through the winter and aren’t derailed by extreme weather.
The $3.5 million project was originally scheduled to be completed in February.
The commissioners plan to meet with the businesses surrounding the Government Center later this month in an attempt to be a good neighbor. They plan to share details about the remainder of the project, including the schedule and road closures, and to listen to their concerns regarding the ongoing construction.
“To hopefully mitigate any issues,” Commissioner Leslie Osche said.
