The Pittsburgh History and Landmarks Foundation is moving ahead with plans to repair the façade of the Penn Theater.
In an email received earlier this week, a spokesman for the organization said that renovations to the outside of the building are “currently underway”. The work was delayed while the scope of improvements was expanded to include repairing terra cotta and replacing windows.
PHLF is aware of the code review recently completed by the Butler city zoning department and given to the City Redevelopment Authority last month. According to the foundation spokesman the renovations “will address the exterior issues that were identified”.
Pittsburgh History and Landmarks Foundation remains committed to Penn Theater as “an important contributing structure to Downtown Butler’s Historic Main Street”.
