The next phase of construction on the Parkway North started Monday morning.
The Interstate 279 HOV lanes are now closed. That marks the start of the next part of a major reworking on I-279. For PennDOT, it’s the biggest road improvement project of the 2018 summer.
The closures and main work of the project should wrap up by late August, but overnight and weekend work will continue until November.
A lot of Butler County drivers use I-279 to travel into Pittsburgh from the north.
