Police have released additional information about the robbery of three elderly women at gunpoint near the Grove City Premium Outlets.
On November 10th just after 7 p.m. three women were walking to their hotel near the outlet mall when man approached them in an alleyway and pulled a gun. The suspect then forcefully took their purses and fled in a dark-colored car in the direction of New Castle.
According to State Police, the suspect obtained a significant amount of Canadian currency from the victims and would have likely tried to exchange the money for U.S. currency.
Police describe the man as a white male, about 5’6” to 5’8” with a stocky build and wearing a black knit cap and dark clothing.
Anyone with knowledge of someone trying to exchange a large amount of Canadian money around this time is asked to provide additional information to State Police in Mercer.
