One person died over the weekend whenever a vehicle hit a woman on a major roadway.
The accident happened Saturday just before 5 p.m. on Evans City Road in Butler Township near the Dollar General.
When crews got on scene they found an elderly woman who had been hit by a car in the middle of the road.
Police identified the victim as 84-year-old Rita Nauman of Butler. She was taken to Butler Memorial Hospital, but died from her injuries.
The driver was a 30-year-old man from Aliquippa. Police say he is not facing any charges.
Traffic on Evans City Road was shut down briefly to allow police to investigate.
