WISR continues to celebrate 75 years serving Butler County with events each month.
There has been the Butler County Wine Fest, Navy Band Concert, and the St. Patrick’s Day Party. In April, WISR’s It’s Your Turn program with Dave Malarkey will be on the road and the station will celebrate National Volunteer and National Service Month.
At the same time, WISR is looking for pictures from the past. If you have pictures of historical items or event in the area, WISR would like to share them online. Either a picture can be sent to WISR’s office at 252 Pillow Street in Butler, or scanned and sent to [email protected].
WISR remains independently owned. It was the last station licensed in country before the onset of WWII. After the war, licenses to radio stations continued.
