A big winter storm system arrived early Wednesday and began quickly dumping snow.
The snow started about 4 a.m. and by 5 a.m., most roadways in Butler County were completely covered.
A Winter Storm Warning remains in effect through 6 p.m. Wednesday. By the time the system moves out of the area, the National Weather Service expects between 5 and 8 inches of snow to be left behind.
At some point, the snow may mix with freezing rain and sleet at times. Ice accumulations of up to two tenths of an inch are expected, according to the NWS.
All nine Butler County public school districts have decided to cancel class today. A full list of school and community-related closings and delays is available here.
