And so it begins.
Temperatures began to fall quickly early Tuesday, plummeting some 13 degrees between 6 a.m. and 8 a.m. Forecasters worried light overnight rain would ‘flash freeze,’ so a Winter Weather Advisory was issued for Butler and Lawrence counties. It has since expired.
Temperatures will continue falling throughout the day, hitting zero by tonight. Dangerously cold wind chills are expected, according to the National Weather Service. Tonight it will “feel like” -10.
Wednesday’s high temperature is expected to be 1, with wind chill values as low as –22. Partly cloudy skies and a low of –8 on Wednesday night.
A Wind Chill Warning remains in effect until Friday morning, when we are expected to get a break from the arctic air.
