Butler County remains under a Winter Weather Advisory as a mixed bag of precipitation: freezing rain, sleet, snow and rain is expected throughout the day.
Light freezing rain started about 6 a.m. in the city of Butler. The freezing rain is expected to turn to snow later on today. The National Weather Service is forecasting total wet snow accumulations of 2 to 4 inches possible, and ice accumulations of a light glaze are expected.
Temperatures will be hovering around the freezing mark.
There were a number of accidents reported in Butler County Thursday morning, including on Rt. 422, Rt. 68, Rt. 8 and Interstate 79.
Several bridges and overpasses were a sheet of ice, including the General Richard Butler Bridge heading into downtown Butler which was partially closed at one point.
