Winter isn’t over just yet as the area prepares for another round of snowy weather. A winter weather advisory has been issued for Butler County from 10 p.m. Friday through noon Saturday.
AccuWeather Senior Meteorologist John Feerick predicts the area could see three to five inches of snow.
“During the day Friday, it’s actually going to be in the low 50s, so initially when snow begins it’s going to be melting on roads,” Feerick said. “But as the night progresses, it obviously turns colder and we’ll see it start to accumulate quickly on roads. Conditions will likely worsen pretty quickly later at night.”
Feerick says the worst of the storm is expected to hit the area early Saturday. “Looks like we’ll have the worse of the travel problems Saturday morning. The heaviest snow is coming late Friday night into Saturday morning. It should start to taper off Saturday afternoon.”
The snow is expected to stick around all weekend with colder temperatures, but Feerick predicts a fairly quick melt as temps rise into the 50s by Monday.
