Police are asking motorists to remember to exercise caution when driving in winter conditions.
Troop D of the State Police has issued a Winter Driving Warning directing those on the roads to drive their vehicles at a safe speed when conditions are less than ideal.
This means that in many cases the posted speed limit is greater than what can be considered a reasonably safe speed.
Drivers can be charged with a traffic violation if a crash results from driving too fast on poor road conditions.
