After what felt like the longest winter and winter-like start to spring for many, a warm-up is coming for the latter half of this week.
According to the National Weather Service (NWS), Thursday’s high in Butler County will be 70 degrees. After a cloudy start to the day with the potential for a quick rain shower or two, skies should clear and become mostly sunny by mid-to-late afternoon.
It is going to be windy, however. The NWS issued a Hazardous Weather Outlook for Butler and surrounding counties at 4 a.m. Thursday warning of windy conditions.
“This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for western Maryland, east central Ohio, northwest Pennsylvania, southwest Pennsylvania, west central Pennsylvania, western Pennsylvania, northern West Virginia and northern panhandle of West Virginia. Wind gusts to 45 mph are possible today,” according to the NWS.
Forecasters expect a low Thursday night of 52 degrees. And then the warm-up continues for the weekend- with temperatures in the mid-70s with sunshine on Friday. Cloudy skies, with a chance for rain, on Saturday, but still a high near 72.
