The Arizona Diamondbacks defeated the Pittsburgh Pirates 13-8 last night. Pirates starting pitcher Trevor Williams allowed eight runs, including six in the first inning. He lasted just three innings. The Bucs scored six runs in the fourth inning, but relievers Steven Brault and Davoydas Neverauskas allowed five more runs in relief.
Josh Harrison and Josh Bell had three hits each. Starling Marte hit his eighth home run.
The Pirates complete their three-game series today with the Diamondbacks. First pitch is 3:40pm. Hear the game on WISR 680am beginning at 3:15pm. Jameson Taillon will start for the Bucs. Zack Greinke will start for Arizona. Taillon has posted a 2.79 ERA with 19 strikeouts over his last three starts.
The Pirates return home to begin a 10-game homestand Friday, with the first three games against Cincinnati.
