The Western Pennsylvania Conservancy has announced they are taking applications for their Tree Planting Initiative.
Funding is available for land owners to plant Riparian trees along streamside, streams, springs, small runs or headwater tributaries on their property.
Funding will cover a variety of trees and shrubs native to Pennsylvania, tree protection materials, and the labor to plant trees.
These trees help stabilize streambanks, reduce sedimentation, cooling water temperatures, and filtering pollutants in the air.
To conservancy is looking to plant 75 acres of unforested areas which is approximately 15,000 trees through 2027.
