A local teenager has been crowned the 2017 Pennsylvania Fair Queen.
West Sunbury native Madeline McEachin, 18, was named the 31st state queen at the annual joint convention of the PA State Association of County Fairs and the PA State Showmen’s Association.
McEachin is a 2016 honors graduate from Butler high School and is now studying accounting at the Pennsylvania State University. McEachin was chosen from among 60 contestants and will receive a $2,500 scholarship at the conclusion of her reign next January.
In her role as state queen McEachin will travel the state this year representing the state’s rich agricultural tradition and serving as an ambassador of the fair association.
