A couple events are going on out at Moraine State Park this weekend.
First, a history hike is being offered on Saturday from 9 to noon at the Wyggeston Trail at the end of Park Road by the fishing pier. Those planning to attend should wear sturdy shoes, dress for the weather, and bring water and trail snacks.
Also, a bat box workshop will be held Saturday from 1 to 4 p.m. at the Moraine Outdoor Center on the North Shore. Participates can learn about and construct a home for insect-eating little brown bats. Pre-registration is required and the construction costs are $50 for the large bat box and $25 for the small bat box.
Finally, the Muddy Creek Oil Field Living History Exhibit will be open from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. off the Park Road Prospect exit. Volunteers will be on hand to operate the well and answer questions. Free refreshments will be provided.
