Friday is the first full day of summer. What kind of weather can we expect this season?
National Weather Service Meteorologist Paul Head says it looks like it will be wetter than normal.
“The official forecast calls for slightly above-normal temperatures and above-normal precipitation through the summer,” Head said.
Pennsylvania is in the battleground between comfortable dry air to the north and hot humid air to the south. Head says it’s difficult to say just hot how it will get.
“July and August are pretty typical for heat waves. We typically get a four-to-five day stretch in July for a heat-wave, and we expect that to happen this July as well,” he said.
It’s expected to be a wet weekend in Butler County, with temperatures reaching the mid-70s for highs.
