The Pittsburgh Pirates fell to the Miami Marlins 3-2 last night. The Pirates managed only four hits in the game. Tony Watson took the loss in relief of Jon Niese. Watson allowed a run in the eighth inning, the first run he has given up since April. Niese allowed two runs over five innings of work. It was the Pirates second consecutive loss to the Marlins, and they fell to 7-1/2 games behind the Chicago Cubs. Game four is tonight in Miami. First pitch is 7:10pm. The Butler BlueSox defeated Chillicothe 5-4 last night in a walk-off. The Sox are 3-3 and will be in Chillicothe tonight. The Sox host Springfield Friday and Saturday, with Friday’s game a Fireworks night.
