Cranberry Township is moving forward with plans to replace residents’ analog water meters with new digital versions.
The Township is currently searching for a qualified contractor to install the meters through the statewide Keystone Purchasing Network.
Once installed, the new digital meters will be able to report readings remotely and automatically translate that data into billable information on customer accounts. Antennas to receive the signals from the meters are already in place.
The Cranberry Board of Supervisors plans to approve an installer contractor next month with work to begin in January of 2017. Instillation of the new meters is estimated to be complete by 2018.
