Major League Baseball Playoffs:
–The Washington Nationals have taken a 3-0 lead in the National League Championship Series after defeating the St. Louis Cardinals 8-1 Monday night. Washington starting pitcher Stephen Strasburg allowed one unearned run over seven innings, striking out 12. Infielder Howie Kendrick had three doubles and drove in three runs. The Nationals can complete the series sweep tonight. Game time is 8:05pm. The game will be shown on TBS.
Game three of the American League Championship Series is tonight when the New York Yankees host the Houston Astros. The series is tied at 1-1. Gerrit Cole will start for the Astros. Game time is 4:08pm. The game will be shown on FS1.
Two Pittsburgh Pirates infielders at Triple-A Indianapolis have won Rawlings Gold Gloves. Third baseman Ke’Bryan Hayes and first baseman Will Craig will receive the defensive excellence awards. Both had the best fielding percentages at their positions in the majors or minors. Hayes had three errors in 103 starts, and 287 chances. Craig had one error in 111 games. Will Craig also hit a career-high 23 home runs, most by an Indians players since 2005.
