Former Pittsburgh Steelers Hines Ward and Alan Faneca have made the first cut for the 2017 Pro Football Hall of Fame. It is the first time on the ballot for the former Super Bowl MVP Ward. Faneca was a finalist last year. Both retired from the NFL following the 2011 season. They are among 26 on the semi-final list, which will be cut to 15 finalists.
Also reaching the final list was Woodland Hills high school graduate Jason Taylor, who played 15 years in the NFL as a defensive end for Miami, Washington and the New York Jets.
NFL Thursday Night Football: Carolina (3-6) will host the New Orleans Saints (4-5) at 8:30pm.
