The State Police Fire Marshall has been contacted to investigate the cause of a duplex fire on Walker Ave. in Butler that we reported on Thursday December 31, 2015.
The cause of the fire is not thought to be suspicious. The fire is thought to have started around 7:00 a.m, although that is still under investigation. According to the Butler Eagle Facebook Page, eight people including two children were able to escape the burning building uninjured.
Butler City Fire Department Lt. Donald Crawford says the building is unlivable but potentially reparable with damages estimated at $10,000 for the contents of the house and $30,000 damage done to the structure.
