A bill is on the table to shrink the size of the Pennsylvania House of Representatives.
The legislation would amend the state constitution and reduce the number of House seats from 203 to 151.
The bill was voted through by a committee Tuesday morning and will now head to the full House for consideration. If it would pass both the House and Senate, the measure would then be placed on the ballot as a statewide referendum for voters to decide.
Pennsylvania’s 253-member General Assembly is the largest and most expensive full-time state legislature in the country.
