Preparations are well underway for this year’s Connoquenessing Creek Cleanup.
Volunteers will take to the water on Saturday, Aug. 27 and again on Saturday, Sept. 10.
Their starting point will be the Harmony boat launch and will continue for a 12-mile stretch to Fombell, Beaver County.
Local residents Christina and Mike Handley formed the Allegheny Aquatic Alliance, the group that sponsors the cleanup, back in 2012. Since then, the group has successfully removed over 200,000 pounds of garbage, including 2,000 tires.
