A free tax prep program helped bring millions of dollars back to Butler County residents.
The Volunteer Income Tax Assistance program, known as VITA, is run by the Center for Community Resources and offers free tax preparation for low-income residents.
According to the United Way, the program completed about 2,300 returns this year and brought back more than $3 million in refunds.
