September is Suicide Prevention Month and the VA is continuing their campaign to reduce Veteran suicide.
The campaign offers resources to veterans who are struggling through the Suicide Prevention Team which will be present at multiple community events and other special gatherings during this month.
The VA has many programs dedicated to helping veterans and their families such as the VA Solid Start program which helps with risk assessments for veterans transitioning out of the military service.
Those interested in learning more about this initiative should visit the VA’s Suicide Prevention website. The Veterans Crisis Line is always available by calling 988 and pressing 1 or by texting 838255.
