Is Valentine’s Day an over-hyped holiday or a welcomed way to celebrate love?
Our friends at WalletHub estimate Americans will spend almost $20 billion (yes…that’s with a ‘B’) this Valentine’s Day…averaging about $146 per person.
There will be 14 million proposals on Sunday. The best city to celebrate in the country in San Francisco…one of the worst, Cleveland. Our region is somewhere in the middle.
Men, if you haven’t gotten your significant other something yet…you should hurry. According to the survey, 53 percent of women say they would break up with their significant other if they got nothing for Valentine’s Day.
If you still need to shop, the organization Butler Downtown is sweetening your shopping experience. If you spend $5 in any participating downtown Butler business through Valentine’s Day, you’ll be entered into a drawing for some great prizes. And, if you take a ‘selfie’ of you and your sweetheart in front of a participating business and post it on the Butler Downtown Facebook page, you’ll be eligible for a $50 gift card. The promotion is called Locals Love You More. More information here.
