The Department of Veterans Affairs has named a new regional director.
Dr. Michael Adelman will head the Veterans Integrated Service Network 4, which includes VA facilities in most of Pennsylvania and some or all of those in five neighboring states. He will oversee health care delivery to more than 320,000 veterans and an operating budget of nearly $2.5 billion.
Adelman replaces interim director William Mills, who will return to his regular position as director of the Altoona VA Medical Center in January.
The regional office has been without a permanent director since November of 2013.
