The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs has launched a campaign to enroll veterans in VA Healthcare after reports of symptoms from blast exposures.
After reports of health issues including mental health challenges and thoughts of suicide possibly due to repeated blasts and head trauma (low-level artillery blasts, IEDs, missile launches, heavy fire, and more), the VA is looking study the issue.
Veterans who may be suffering from health issues related to blast exposure can receive access to specialty screenings and services.
In an effort to sign more veterans up for their VA healthcare, the VA has reached out via text messages, direct emails, public service announcements, paid advertising, and events.
These outreach efforts are thanks to the signing of the PACT Act in 2022 which help enroll over 800,000 veterans a 37% increase.
