A couple of local employees of the Butler VA Healthcare System have been recognized with awards by a regional organization.
The Pittsburgh Federal Executive Board recently named Andrew Gryskewicz as a recipient of a 2022 Gold Excellence in Government Award in the Outstanding Administrative Employee category. Also, Louella Anne McKee received a Bronze Award in the Outstanding Service to the Public category.
Gryskewicz is a Volunteer Services Specialist at the Butler VA with medic training in the military who supported Veterans and facilities hit hard by COVID-19. McKee is the Butler VA Veteran Experience Officer/Patient Advocate who has advocated for local Veterans daily through applying for and receiving grant money to improve patient experience.
The Butler VA also had three teams honored as distinguished nominees. The Pittsburgh Federal Executive Board received 99 nominations from 17 regional agencies and presented 52 awards.
