VA Butler Healthcare will join 200 other veteran affairs hospitals around the country today in walking in support of homeless vets.
The event is called the VA2K and kicks off at 11 a.m. at the front entrance of VA Butler off New Castle Road in Butler Township.
Any community member is invited to come walk anytime until 3 p.m.
Donations homeless veterans need- such as granola bars, water bottles and toothbrushes- will be accepted.
“When our team goes out into the community looking for veterans they will take items like those in a backpack to give them,” Karen Dunn, Health Promotion and Disease Prevention Manager said.
WISR will be broadcasting its live, afternoon talk show It’s Your Turn at VA2K 12:30 p.m. to 2 p.m.
