VA Butler Healthcare Director David Cord has stepped down.
The VA announced late Friday that Cord voluntarily left the job. He has been replaced by Philadelphia VA Medical Center Associate Director for Clinical Operations Patricia OKane. She officially starts this morning.
Cord had been the director of VA Butler Healthcare since 2015. He is not leaving the VA system. He will now work at the Veterans Health Administration’s Procurement & Logistics office in Pittsburgh.
In a statement, the VA said new leadership was in the best interest of the facility and the veterans who are served.
“There are times in every organization when new leadership is needed. This is one of those times, and we agree with Cord that appointing a new leader is in the best interests of the facility and the Veterans served by the Butler VA,” according to a news release. “We are confident Ms. OKane will provide consistency and strong leadership for Butler VA staff during this time. Working together, OKane and the staff in Butler will continue to improve the care and services that our Veterans have earned and deserve.”
