Energy bills are set to increase this month for a number of utility companies across the state.
According to the Pennsylvania Utility Commission, West Penn Power customers will see a 45 percent increase in energy costs, and Penn Power customers will see a 23 percent jump.
The organizations say the jump in prices is in response to an increase in overall energy costs across the globe.
The PUC reminds homeowners that they can save energy by running fans instead of the air conditioner, unplugging unused appliances, and doing full loads of laundry.
