With utility bills increasing due to higher energy costs, Attorney General Josh Shapiro is reminding residents about available assistance through the LIHEAP Program.
The annual Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program is still available for those who are struggling and will continue through at least May 6th.
Shapiro would like to see the program extended through August using unspent funds since the price of electricity has increased by nine percent and the price of natural gas has increased by 20 percent.
In addition to LIHEAP, the Office of Consumer Advocate encourages residents in need to contact utility companies to learn more about available assistance programs.
