The state-of-the-art UPMC Lemieux Sports Complex in Cranberry Township will celebrate its first birthday tomorrow.
The complex opened last August and became the first center of its kind to combine a training facility for a professional hockey team as well as a comprehensive outpatient facility for UPMC Sports Medicine.
Events continue on Saturday from 11 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. and are free and open to the public. Attendees can participate in an on-ice skills session with Penguins training staff, a public skate, a rapid shot contest and birthday cupcakes.
The facility is located near the intersection of Interstate 79 and Route 228 on Cranberry Springs Drive.
