The man who allegedly shot his girlfriend at a Lyndora apartment Monday has been captured, charged and remains in jail.
Gage Carrozzi, 22, is believed to have fired seven rounds from outside the Butler Township apartment on Hansen Avenue about 8 a.m.
Police believe he fired through the door, grazing his girlfriend and the mother of his children- a 23-year-old woman. She suffered a “grazing wound” to her stomach, and has since been treated at the hospital and released.
Following the shooting, Carrozzi allegedly fled the scene. Police believed he could be at his apartment on Bessemer Avenue, so they closed the road and eventually stormed the home, but only found two young children inside- a 1 and 4 year old.
Carrozzi was eventually apprehended on Armco Drive, underneath the Picklegate Crossing Bridge. Carrozzi is now facing several charges, including attempted homicide.
The incident prompted the nearby Butler Senior and Intermediate high schools to go into temporary lockdown.
