The United Way of Butler County’s Week of Caring begins Monday and volunteers from around the area will be donating their time to the community.
Executive Director of the Butler County Chapter of the United Way Kierston Hobaugh says over 100 people have signed up to participate in this annual event.
“It’s actually been a staple in some way, shape, or form of the United Way basically since the United Way’s inception in the 1930s…but the official Week of Caring started in 2010,” Hobaugh said. “Volunteerism is a big part of our organization.”
Hobaugh points out the week not only helps local organizations complete projects, it also raises the profile of those groups within the community.
“It gives exposure to people living and working in Butler County as to what’s actually available and how these organizations, though most may recognize a group’s logo, symbol and name, how they actually assist those that need here in the county.”
The United Way of Butler County has started a new campaign season.
