A 2015 road project in Cranberry Township has been recognized by the state in a road safety competition.
Last year, improvements were made to a portion of Unionville Road, which has been the site of several crashes in recent years. Crews realigned a dangerous curve in the road (near its intersection with Graham School Road), improved stormwater drainage and repaved and repainted the entire area.
The project was declared the winner of a statewide program that recognizes outstanding safety improvement projects.
Cranberry officials say since the improvements were made, there have been no further crashes at this location.
