The union representing Slippery Rock University professors and coaches has rejected a contract offer from the state.
The State System of Higher Education announced a proposal Friday to the Association of Pennsylvania State College and University Faculties.
About an hour after the proposal was released, the union president announced the union would not accept the offer, citing increased health care costs.
The union represents 475 professors and 30 coaches at SRU.
Negotiations are scheduled to continue next week (Nov. 20th) in Harrisburg.
