Organizers say a fundraiser this past weekend for Ukrainian relief was a big success.
A baked goods sale and raffle was held Saturday at the Cabot United Methodist Church. Organizer Leigh Baxter said in an email that there was a “sea of people” that came to the church first thing in the morning and didn’t stop all day.
Overall, the group raised over $12,000 total during the day, and the group said there are expecting more donations to come in later.
Organizers say they are overwhelmed by the support for the Ukrainian people and the passion locals shared in the cause.
